Love Literacy 2019 is set to be jam-packed full of practical and inspirational speakers and workshops, aimed at those working to encourage reading for pleasure and raise literacy standards.

Confirmed speakers include:

Lauren Child – award-winning writer and artist, creator of characters including Clarice Bean and Charlie and Lola, and UK Children’s Laureate

Miranda McKearney OBE – Founder of The Reading Agency and now EmpathyLab, the new social action programme seeking to change children’s lives by developing empathy through reading

Neil Griffiths – children’s author, former Head Teacher, inspirational trainer and creator of the Storysacks

Nick Poole – CEO of CILIP, the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals

Sonia Thompson – Deputy Headteacher at St. Matthew’s C of E Primary School in Birmingham, winner of the 2018 Egmont/UKLA Whole School Reading for Pleasure Award.
