Recent research shows that only 4% of children’s and young adult books that are published feature BAME (Black, Asian and minority ethnic) characters. More so than ever, it’s crucial to find books that represent the diverse and varied experiences and cultures of all students.

To celebrate Academic Book Week, our team of librarians have put together a list of recommended titles by BAME authors, or featuring BAME characters that are suitable for secondary aged readers.
