Go All In: National Year of Reading 2026The National Year of Reading is a transformative national initiative designed to reignite a culture of reading for pleasure across the UK. From the National Literacy Trust, The Reading Agency and Department for Education, it aims to inspire more people to visit their local library, and make reading joyful, relevant and visible in homes, workplaces and communities.Peters will be supporting libraries throughout 2026 to reconnect people with the power of libraries, promoting the public library as a vibrant, inclusive hub for reading, creativity and connection. |

How can libraries 'Go All In'?Bring the National Year of Reading to life in your library with free resources, ready-to-run ideas and support. Encourage your audiences – adults and children – to go all in at your library, tapping into their interests and passions, showing how the library offer can support their interests. Think about how you can encourage people to discover your library and everything it has to offer. Your book stock and regular programming already tap into interests and passions, from Rhyme Time, to Knit and Natter, and from gardening books to manga collections.
