Yorkmead Primary School library design case study

Yorkmead Primary School wanted to redesign their library which was of an unusual shape, to create a more friendly and relaxing area for the children to come to; to be encouraged to explore a large variety of books and also a space to help foster a love of reading. The library also needed to utilise different intervention groups during the day, so having access to a seating area and table was key.

The school called our library designers for a visit to have a look at the library space and listened to what the school's requirements were. From that, the designers came up with a design that the school was very happy with. The installation was scheduled at a time that was convenient to the school and was finished to an excellent standard. 

Yorkmead Primary School was very happy with their new library space, that there was a grand opening of the library soon after to share the new space with the whole school community. The children were amazed and excited to see how much the library had transformed. One year 5 child said "It looks like a public library now!". The children have now started their regular library visits and are enjoying the new layout.
