SLA IBA shortlist has been announced!

We've got some great news for you all - the SLA IBA (School Library Association Information Book Award) shortlist has been announced.   The Information Book Award is celebrating its seventh year, and is a major development for information books. It's been put in place to support school libraries and to reinforce the importance of non-fiction, whilst highlighting the high standard of resources available. Here we share the full shortlist for you to enjoy:

Under 7 years

A First Book of Animals by Nicola Davies, Illustrated by Petr Horacek Our Very Own Dog by Amanda McCardie, Illustrated by Salvatore Rubbino My Encyclopedia of Very Important Things by Various The Big Book of Bugs by Yuval Zommer  

7-12 years

The Great Fire of London by Emma Adams, Illustrated by James Weston Lewis RSPB Wildlife in Your Garden by Mike Dilger, Illustrated by Sarah Horne Hello World by Jonathan Litton, Illustrated by L’atelier Cartographik Ada’s Ideas; The Story of Ada Lovelace by Fiona Robinson  

Over 12 years

Mind Your Head by Juno Dawson Who Are Refugees and Migrants? by Michael Rosen and Annemarie Young Survivors of the Holocaust by Kath Shackleton  

The winning titles will be announced at an event at Hachette Children's Group in London, on Wednesday 22nd November. Voting for the Children's Choice will be open very shortly, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled on the SLA website.
