School Library Association Inspiration Award winners

October 3rd 2017

We have some incredibly exciting news: the winners of the School Library Association (SLA) Inspiration Award 2017 have been announced.  The SLA supports the role of the school library as a place to support reading and learning throughout the key stages and work to promote independent readers and learners in life. The Inspiration Award looks to celebrate school library spaces that show inspiration, innovation, creativity and resourcefulness in its library design and in use, either through creative use of specific products or promotions. We're incredibly excited to say that Adderley Primary School in Birmingham has been awarded the latest SLA Inspiration Award for primary schools, after the judges were impressed with the immersion in books and reading the children encountered, as well as the reading culture spread throughout the school. For the secondary school SLA Inspiration Award, the judges were presented with an impossible task, and so in a one-off three schools have been awarded joint winners. A huge congratulations goes to: American School of Madrid Headington School, Oxon Hymers College, Hull Once again, we'd like wish all winners the biggest congratulations, and we hope they continue to inspire and cultivate a wonderful reading culture within their schools.
