Salford Children's Book Award

The shortlist has been announced for the Salford Children’s Book Award 2018 (supported by MLS, who develop high specification library systems for schools and colleges). The winner is due to be announced on 16 March 2018 and the six shortlisted authors will be attending the award ceremony at the Lowry. Pupils from Salford high schools are also invited to attend and meet the authors and pupils in years 7, 8 and 9 from all participating schools will receive copies of all the books on the shortlist so they can read and discuss them in class.

The six shortlisted authors and their books are:

Cogheart by Peter Bunzi

River of Ink: Genesis by Helen Dennis

The Bubble Boy by Stewart Foster

Murder in Midwinter by Fleur Hitchcock

The Elephant Thief by Jane Kerr

Beetle Boy by M G Leonard
