In memory of Ray Dyer

It is with a heavy heart that we write with the sad news of the unexpected passing of our Managing Director, Ray Dyer, who has been an integral part of Peters Limited for 30 years.  

Ray was a dedicated, kind and well-respected leader, mentor and a cherished friend and colleague to many. Ray will be deeply missed by all of us and everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.  

Ray was a passionate advocate of the value of libraries and the importance of reading and literacy. In recent years, Ray was involved with campaigns such as Great School Libraries, National Literacy Trust’s Libraries for Primary campaign, as well as hosting Peters’ own conference for educators, literacy professionals and public librarians, Love Literacy, in 2016 and 2019.

Ray played a pivotal role in making Peters Bookshop what it is today, and his legacy to Peters Books and the wider book industry will never be forgotten.
