On Tuesday 24th May, leaders and teachers from across the UK will come together for the CLPE Power of Reading Conference, a day which is a part of the Power of Reading Project, a programme that aims to inspire teachers on how they can engage better with their students and improve literacy levels. Throughout next conference, teachers will get to attend a variety of talks on recent findings and research, author presentations (featuring writers such as Alexis Deacon) and panel discussions with school leaders and other teachers. It's also the perfect opportunity for teachers to get together and share ideas and experiences from both the CLPE project and day-to-day life in school. On top of the conference, you can also get involved with the Power of Reading Project's CLPE course, which is divided into four different stages: a Launch Conference, 2 x INSETS and one Final Conference. Hosted by Peters Books, project provides school teachers and leaders with the tools and knowledge they need to engage and inspire students, and change their attitudes to reading. With on-hand advice and insightful book packs, teachers can begin to achieve the literacy results they desire. CLPE are now taking bookings for their autumn term, so if you're interested, check out the CLPE Power of Reading Conference site to learn all about the day, as well as more on the fascinating course and project they currently offer.
