To celebrate the brilliant work you and the UK's libraries do for literacy, the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professional (CILIP) have announced their plans to launch the first ever Libraries Week. This will be a seven-day celebration of Britain's libraries, starting from 9th October 2017, and will act as a replacement for the current National Libraries Day. Throughout this celebration, libraries will be given the opportunity to showcase the best they have to offer, and encourage more people than ever to discover what libraries really do. The countdown to the first Libraries Week will begin on Saturday 4th February 2017, and if you and your library have already got some activity planned you're encouraged to continue with whatever brilliant plans you have as the transition to a new date gets underway. Are you excited for the brand new Libraries Week? To learn all about this celebration and how you and your team can get involved check out the CILIP website today.
