Michael Rosen Day is back on Thursday 12 November 2026
Celebrate the National Year of Reading with Michael Rosen Day, an opportunity to encourage creativity and make reading, listening to and writing poetry fun, enjoyable and accessible for all, through the work of one of Britain’s most beloved poets.
 |
How to get involvedEveryone is invited to join Michael’s HUGE Poetry Party, to discover and share the joy of one of Britain’s best-loved poets and inspire a love of poetry in your setting. This year’s theme is SILLY SCHOOL STUFF and this is the ultimate way to indulge in raps, rhymes, stories and fun with the nation’s favourite funny poet. Get involved and let’s make it the best Michael Rosen Day yet. Schools nationwide can join a free HUGE Poetry Party live-streamed online event with Michael Rosen in partnership with Read for Good, or encourage pupils to pen their own Silly School Stuff-themed poems by entering this year's Silly School Stuff poetry competition. There are also FREE resources for schools, libraries and families, full of book-based ideas to bring Michael's poetry to life! A Walker Books celebration in partnership with Read for Good, Puffin, Bloomsbury, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster and Hachette. |
