Juniper Education Reading Comprehension Cards

We know that as you return to school your focus will be on identifying what pupils know and where they have gaps in learning. With reading skills central to learning across the curriculum, Juniper Education librarians alongside expert teaching advisers have created a set of Reading Comprehension Cards that can be used as part of your school’s recovery plan, supporting pupils’ learning as they return to the classroom.

The complete set consists of 5 book cards and 1 introductory card for each year (1 to 6), covering a range of text types and genres. Aimed at TAs, each card focusses on an age-appropriate title and includes example questions and discussion points. Matched to the key National Curriculum reading comprehension requirements, using the cards will ensure each reading comprehension session is structured and effective.
