Great School Libraries: Building Lifelong Readers

We are delighted to invite you to the first of our Great School Libraries: Building Lifelong Readers events, to be held here at Peters.

In this free twilight session, Alison Tarrant of the School Library Association will give you an insight into the Great School Libraries campaign, and children’s writer and inspirational trainer, Neil Griffiths, will run a practical session where you will explore the many ways to help develop children into lifelong readers.

Neil’s session will cover the latest statistics on reading trends, the powerful ways to ‘model’ the pleasure of reading, approaches to celebrating and promoting books, ‘read aloud’ techniques and much more.

Time: 3.00pm – 5.30pm


  • 3pm-4pm: Arrival and refreshments, opportunity to browse Peters showroom
  • 4pm: Introduction
  • 4.05pm: The Great School Libraries campaign – Alison Tarrant
  • 4.20pm: The Power of Reading for Pleasure – Neil Griffiths
  • 5.20pm: Book signing
  • 5.30pm: Finish

​All delegates will receive a free goodie bag and two free Neil Griffiths books (a picture book and a novel) when completing a questionnaire at the event. Refreshments are provided.
