Great School Libraries: Building Lifelong Readers

We are delighted to invite you to the first of our Great School Libraries: Building Lifelong Readers events, to be held at Brooklands Farm Primary School in Milton Keynes.

In this free twilight session, Alison Tarrant of the School Library Association will give you an insight into the Great School Libraries campaign, and children’s writer and inspirational trainer, Neil Griffiths, will run a practical session where you will explore the many ways to help develop children into lifelong readers.

Neil’s session will cover the latest statistics on reading trends, the powerful ways to ‘model’ the pleasure of reading, approaches to celebrating and promoting books, ‘read aloud’ techniques and much more.

Time: 3.30pm – 6.00pm


  • 3.30pm – 4pm: Arrival and refreshments
  • 4pm – 4.10pm: Introduction to Peters
  • 4.10pm – 4.30pm: The Great School Libraries campaign – Alison Tarrant
  • 4.30pm – 5.30pm: Building Lifelong Readers – Neil Griffiths
  • 5.30pm – 6pm: Book signing

​All delegates will receive a free goodie bag and a free Neil Griffiths book when completing a questionnaire at the event. Refreshments are provided.
