If you’re anything like us, you’ll have been waiting in anticipation for the release of the CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway shortlists for some time – you may have already pre-ordered your own copies! Well the time has finally arrived, and we’re incredibly excited to announce the shortlisted books, along with their authors and illustrators.
For those of you who don’t know, The CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals are the UK’s oldest and most prestigious children’s book awards. The Carnegie medal is awarded by children’s librarians to authors of the books that have really stood out over the previous year. Alternatively, the Kate Greenaway medal is awarded to illustrators who have created beautiful picture books, graphic novels, or illustrations for fiction.
