At Peters, our librarians and curriculum specialists read and review every book we hold in our showroom in central Birmingham. During the last summer holidays, they shortlisted 100 books that they recommend you encourage your pupils to read before leaving primary school.

Featuring titles that are fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, younger and older picture books as well as poetry; mixing in modern classics, exciting new titles and humorous stories, these books will appeal to all age groups right from EYFS to the end of Key Stage 2.

Titles included in the list range from the likes of Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy, by Lynley Dodd, to spooky tales from The Demon Headmaster, by Gillian Cross. Not forgetting unforgettable classics like The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, by C S Lewis, and The Hobbit by J R R Tolkien.

If you do decide to purchase all 100 books, you’ll save 30%* and receive a FREE pack of teaching resources.
